It's never to late, Break the Addiction

Meth Addiction & Treatment Centers in Arizona

Methamphetamines, also known as crystal meth, are extremely powerful and addictive stimulants. They are the 4th leading cause of substance abuse and contribute to at least 120,000 substance abuse problems each year.

Meth can be smoked, snorted, ingested or injected. It stimulates the brain and causes an intense but quick euphoric rush. Because of its short-lived high, users are prone to abuse and addiction. Meth significantly affects cognitive functions as well as the brain’s ability to subdue addictive or habitual behaviors.

Meth use and addiction have the power to destroy many aspects of life, including home, work, social and love.

Damages caused by meth use include:

Chronic meth use causes chemical and molecular changes in the brain, which affect motor and learning skills. The other effects of meth include:

  • Increased wakefulness and physical activity
  • Decreased appetite
  • Rapid heart rate and irregular heartbeat
  • Increased respiration
  • Increased blood pressure
  • Extreme weight loss
  • Severe dental problems
  • Skin sores caused by scratching
  • Increased risk of contracting infectious diseases

Our Effective Treatment for Meth Addiction

At Sprout Health Arizona, we approach every treatment slowly and carefully under medical supervision. Our treatments begin with a detoxification process where patients will experience withdrawal symptoms. This phase will be uncomfortable and at some times, hard to bare but we can provide certain medications to help ease the pain.

After the detoxification phase, we will then proceed to the treatment program which has been developed to meet each patient’s individual needs.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Sprout Health Arizona offers many therapeutic modalities to help combat addictive behaviors. Cognitive behavioral therapy is one of the most effective treatments for meth users. It teaches our patients how to identify their addictive behaviors and learn new ways to suppress their triggers.

Other therapies we offer include experiential and groups/family sessions. We believe that group and family therapy are extremely important for a recovery process. They provide a large network of support for our patients during and after their treatment. Recovery does not end when our treatment ends; patients must continually work on their sobriety and support groups can be an effective tool during that process
